Flying Fox.
After some long rants from a certain friend I’ve been persuaded to try tumblr again, maybe this time it’ll stick? (Though I’m still very much attached to blogger…)
mayeko asked: I hear The Tree of Life is some kind of masterwork, it got a small release in theatres in my city so I may go see it. Arrietty is pretty good, much better then Ponyo story-wise, but not as impressive with it's visuals. A Cat in Paris looks interesting, and I have never heard anything about Submarine, but those are my two cents :)
The tree of life seems to be on the top of everyones list! I guess that should be a no-brainer for me then. Arrietty/A cat in paris is a tough one… I am leaning towards a cat in paris simply because the visuals looks fun and quirky. Thanks for your comment!
The New Zealand international film festival starts next week! I’m still having a hard time deciding which ones I should go to so I’ve narrowed it down to 4 (and most likely can afford to go to 2…):
The tree of life, A cat in paris, Submarine and Borrower’s Arrietty.
Help!
For those interested, the entire list is at: http://www.nzff.co.nz/auckland . PLEASE let me know if I’ve missed a must-see!
